Holidays At The Orchid
Fairmont Orchid invites you and your ʻohana (family) to experience the wonder of the holiday season in Hawaiʻi. As our resort transforms into a tropical wonderland, we’re pleased to offer guests holiday activities to celebrate the magic of the season. Reservations for holiday activities can be made through Resort Pass. Please select the activity category of your choice and input your preferred date. You may also book this activities with the Concierge.
Holiday Hula
December 19th
Join us for a very merry holiday hula performance at Croquet Lawn. Starting with our nightly torch lighting, we will begin our holiday season with traditional Hawaiian song and hula before illuminating Fairmont Orchid into a tropical wonderland.
Santa's Arrival
December 24th
Santa rings in the holiday cheer by canoe as he makes a grand entrance on the shores of our beach and delights keiki (children) with a jolly ho ho ho!
Sunset Toast
December 31st
Join our Director of Hawaiian Culture to celebrate the final sunset of the year with a champagne toast, reflecting on and releasing 2025.
Wish Worthy Cocoa at Fairmont Orchid
Celebrate the season with our festive Wish Worthy Cocoa — available hot or frozen at Orchid Court and Brown’s Deli. Topped with coconut whipped cream, house-made Big Island chocolate syrup, and shimmering star sprinkles, each cocoa is $12, with $2 from every purchase donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to help make wishes come true. This is available from December 19 through January 4.

Feel merry and full of delicious food from our chef-inspired festive favorites at our restaurants: Brown’s Beach House, Binchotan: Bar & Grill, and Orchid Court. Toast to ʻohana in Luana Lounge or watch the sun slip into Pauoa Bay at Kahakai Bar.

Keiki Festivities
This is where family adventure begins! Create memories with the entire family at our keiki (kids) Hawaiian activities and cooking classes this holiday. It’s the most wonderful time of the year for gingerbread houses and learning to make your own shave ice. Enjoy renting a private cabana with your ʻohana (family) and relax poolside just in time for ice cream hour.
Cookie Decorating
Decorate and frost Hawaiian shaped sugar cookies. Our brilliant Pastry team will help guide the young chefs!
Keiki Golden Ticket Surprise
Our front office ‘elves’ will present each keiki (ages 12 & under) with a chocolate bar upon check-in. If your chocolate bar has a special ‘Golden Ticket’ inside, you have a chance to win a prize! Available December 19 through January 4.
Letters to Santa
Keiki of all ages are invited to write letters to Santa at our special station located in the lobby. Available December 19 through December 24.
Spa-La-La
You deserve to pamper yourself this holiday season with a day at our open-air Spa Without Walls! Give yourself the gift of peace with a traditional lomi-lomi style massage or revitalize with a phytomer facial, followed by a warm coconut oil scalp, neck and shoulders rub. Join us in making your own Hawaiian spa products to bring relaxation home with you.

Fun, festive and hands-on crafting! Learn how soap is made as you choose from fun holiday shapes, scents, and colors. Add glitter, toys and festive decorations to make your soap one-of-a-kind!

Relaxation, Scents & Sparkle—Handmade for the Holidays! Learn how to craft your own luxurious bath salts using natural ingredients, essential oils and festive add-ons.
Scrub & Spa-liday Magic
In this hands-on workshop, you will create your own luxurious scrubs using natural ingredients and cozy holiday essential oil blends.
Lū‘au Under The Stars
An evening at the beautiful Fairmont Orchid enjoying the elegance and beauty of the Kohala Coast and the ambiance of the land area known as Kalāhuipua’a. Steeped in tradition and history, Kalāhuipua’a is known as a gathering place for ali‘i (royalty) and special visitors. An evening at the Hawaiʻiloa Lū‘au is full of this same tradition of Hawaiian culture and hospitality. A hosted bar and a spectacular dinner offer the freshest and finest ingredients found in the islands.
